Thanks to fellow Mindsayer featherdawn I got more than just curious about geocaching. We've had a GPS unit for a few years now and have hardly used it. The last few days I've been reading up on how to use the darn thing again and started searching and learning about geocaching.
I found geocache.com and upon entering my zip code found that there are plenty of folks around here that must share the same interest. The amount of caches around here is just crazy. I'm going on my first hunt today. This cache is located within 1.1 mile of my home. I'm excited to go on this journey. Am going to take something to leave behind in case I chose to take something from my first cache .... if I find it. If I can't do it I'll drag Dave with me later.
I'm excited to make up my own cache to hide somewhere around this area and see what happens!
The journals that people write upon finding these caches are interesting. Since mining is a form of treasure hunting and we love to mine ..... I think this will be a fun new way to hunt for treasures!
So thanks Dawn for the much needed distraction in my life ..... and I mean that most sincerely.
This is gonna be fun .... I'll let you know how it all turns out!
Peace. J.
