Here is Dave getting ready to put it in it's final hiding place. It's filled with bandanas (mexican theme), red chili pepper braclets, castinettes and a small prize for the First to Find which consists of a 1906 mexican 5 centavos coin and one of my charms.
Putting on the final touches ..... and
how it looked as we left it ..... this was a fun one for me to do. And a beautiful location as well. Although I realize we took no photos of surrounding area .... next time .... sorry! There is a very pretty creek running very close by.
Well ... guess what .... another view of my favorite mountain ..... Mt. Shasta .... sorry, had to do it ....
One of two finds today ..... called "Tailholt" ..... another lost town of Siskiyou County.
Second find of the day. The sign / map by me shows the area called Little Shasta. This was the "Little Shasta" cache.
Little Shasta church ... built in 1879.
Blue Lupine in bloom.
The mountain in the back ground is what the locals call the "Eagles Nest". They gauge garden planting time with this mountain ..... the saying "when the snow is off the eagles nest .... it's safe to plant" is something you hear a lot this time of year. Obviously .... not time for planting yet. Although we have started ..... we are known not to listen to the locals .....
Well that was my day. A beautiful warm ( 77 degrees) spring day. Don't think they can come much nicer. Tomorrow I head back to the B&B for more weed pulling .... then Thursday I will pull up and replant some Iris in desparate need of attention ..... and then plant some more that Dave gave her out of our own Iris bed. Friday is Petey's surgery ..... so I will be staying close to home.
More thankful for the warmth and sunshine than anyone can imagine.
