coldNot much exciting going on today .... getting ready for my daily walk in the garden ... picking what needs to be picked. Getting ready to make more salsa for freezing & decided to just quarter up some tomatoes and freeze that way for soups & sauces this winter. People are starting to run when they see me coming with a bag in my hand - it's been a good veggie year for everyone.
Sounds like we may be taking in twenty more chickens. The owners have sold their home and need to get rid of the chickens. Dave seems to think I need to be in the egg business. I already have three steady egg customers - guess I can handle a few more. Geez ..... twenty more???
It has just gotten cold! I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate being cold. People complain about the heat here in the summer .... but really, it's only hot here a couple months out of the year. The rest of the time you freeze your ass off. Damn! Not really sure how I survived 12 years at 7100' in the Sierra's. But I did .... so I guess I can survive here. ARGH ..... !
We've had a doe and two babies raiding our yard the last few nights. They have just about eaten everything. I'm trying to remain calm .... I love Bambi .... really I do. Thank God they can't get into the garden anymore. Otherwise I might have to learn to like venison (yuck)!
In fact one of the babies has eaten the nose off of the renegade cucumber .... I'll go take a picture of this ... this poor cucumber. Thought maybe it was Petey munching away until I saw the little deer prints in the dirt. 
It' supposed to get up to 89 on Friday. I sure hope so. Don't feel like freezing down at the river. It would be great to have a bright sun shiney non-smokey warm (hot) day. Is that asking for too much???? Fingers crossed everyone!
Blew the clutch out on the MG Midget. Did this a few weeks ago. Miss my little car. So have taken the insurance off of it for the winter, pulled her into her winter resting place and she will sit until I can afford to get her fixed. She will be running by next spring! That is definite. It was a good summer being able to take the little car to the coast and down south. She will run again!
Well, out to the garden ... put it off long enough. Then it's dinner ..... hummmmmm ....
