This cache is what they call "traditional" with just odds and ends trinkets inside. I left a seashell and a 1907 "V" nickle and took a fellow geocacher's round TUIT for my souvenir. There was also what they call a "travel bug" inside but I left that for the next person to relocate. This "bug" started in Minnesota! Didn't think I would be able to get it to far so hopefully someone will come along and give it a better ride to new territory!
This cache turned out to be about .4 mi. from my house. I took off walking at first and got within feet of it but ran into a fence which required me to go back home and get the car. I drove around the block and got within about 100 feet of it and started walking again. When the GPS said I was approx. 1 foot from my treasure I started looking. It was tucked under a manzanita bush with a few pine logs piled on top. My heart beat so hard ... I took off the logs .... grabbed the clear plastic zipper bag holding the box and excitedly opened the box. I checked out what was there ..... left my note in their cache log .... and went on my way ..... very happy! This could be addicting!
This was the "big" find. You know it's not so much what you find but the find itself. I can't wait to get my own cache going ..... this will be fun!
I hope featherdawn has the opportunity to do this soon .... I'd apologize for doing it before you but it was just toooo much fun ..... so I won't!
This has been a good day ..... so far .....
Now back to laundry and real life .....
Peace. J.
