I have a rant today.  It's something that's been bugging me for a couple weeks now.

On the days we go geocaching we will generally grab food from somewhere and go.  I really like Kentucky Fried Chicken's Oven Roasted Twister Wrap.  Dave likes about anything on the menu, but prefers his chicken crisp.  So two weeks ago we decided to go there and grab some lunch on the fly.  We order at the drive thru and pull up to the window.  While waiting for someone to take the money I'm reading the stuff stuck all over the window.  A bright green sticker caught my attention.  This sticker was advising those with shellfish allergies that their chicken is now cooked in the same grease as their new fish sandwich so take heed.

Well, Dave had just ordered a three piece meal .... extra crispy.  So when the girl opened the window to take our money I asked her .....

"You have fish sandwiches?"
All smiles she replies "Yes!"
"And this sticker in the window that is warning folks with shellfish allergies to not eat the chicken .... that means everything is being cooked in the same oil right?"
"What sticker?"
"The bright green sticker here .... in your window.  Why are you serving fish sandwiches?"
"Guess I haven't seen the sticker."
At this point I ask for her supervisor / store manager.  She / he is not there.  Go figure.

Now the food is coming .....

"So, this chicken was cooked in the same oil as the fish right?"
"I guess so."
"My husband is deathly allergic to shellfish.  He will die in minutes.  Now, I just paid for the food .... is my husband going to die if he eats your chicken?"
"Oh, no ..... there shouldn't be a problem."

The community hospital was two blocks away.  We drove there and ate.  He didn't have any reaction. Which is a very good thing, but don't you think that if something that important is going on the employees would be a bit educated on the subject.  She didn't even know about the damn sticker in the window.  Insane.

My next question is .... do you go to Kentucky Fried Chicken for a freaking fish sandwich?  Do you go there looking for a freaking fish sandwich?  KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN!  Hello?

I decided we can't take that chance anymore. Sucks. Kentucky Fried Fish isn't worth dying over.

On a different note .... cleaned a house this morning with M.  We found out that we were born in the same year and that I am two months to the day older than she.  We will be turning 50 this year.  So I think we are going to plan a party between the two birthdays.  Feels so good to have a friend .... and a friend that I acutally have stuff in common with.  I wish I was even more like her but I don't have the faith that she does .... she is good for me though.  I've been learning to give more of myself and enjoying it. 

Tomorrow is Dave's birthday.  I bought him a pocket watch. Hoping he likes it. Mom will take us out to dinner. He's still trying to decide where he wants to eat.  No work tomorrow so I will be able to spend the day with him.  If he's not working .....

Hope everyone is have a wonderful day.  Survivor is starting tonight .... I'm soooo excited.  I am a total Survivor junkie ..... sad but true.
