Was tuned into the Today Show this morning and was very excited to see one of my all time favorites Meatloaf was on the schedule to perform.
The first Bat out of Hell album was a classic. I can't even imagine how many times I listened to this record. Still do. Only now obviously on CD. Bat Out of Hell 2 was just as awesome. Meatloaf is genius. Bat Out of Hell 3 is being released this week the reason for his appearance on the Today Show. From the one song played from the new album I think this will be another classic. I'm excited!
Of course who can forget Meatloaf as "Eddie" in Rocky Horror???? Not me ... for sure!
OTHER NEWS:
Mom's surgery went well. She had surgery last Friday and was home on Tuesday. She has the first women's "anatomically correct knee" north of Sacramento. If you ask her she will tell you she has an "atomic" knee. She can't seem to grasp "anatomically correct". I laugh every time she tells someone this. The Doc said she had the bones of a 50 year old. A true testiment to exercise. At 84 my mother has not stopped going to the gym twice a week to do "chair exercises" and "circuit training". All of the health care people have been more than pleased with her progress. Of course she is not mobile 100% and won't be for another 6 to 8 weeks but it is amazing how well she did. She hasn't even taken too many pain pills which again amazes me. Her pain tolerance is strong. Go MOM!
On the down side I was diagnosed with pnemonia (sp?). I'm down for another week at least. It's been hard trying to help with mom but I'm managing (unbelieveably so) for the most part with a smile. Caretaking is not my thing. I hate vomit and poop and don't understand how anyone could be a nurse. I give sooooo much credit to these folks. You are some special people for sure. I've had to deal with both since she got home. I've sat and cried wondering "why me"? Then I slap myself .... this women took care of me for years, through vomit and poop. As a child and an adult. She has never never not been there for me. I take a deep breath, smile, say a prayer (yes, I do pray) and do my best to be a good provider for her.
Dave's back is still a mess. And that is too long of a story for me right now. All I can say is sometimes men can be difficult and stubborn. Ok .... I can too. But eventually I will listen ..... and stop thinking I know it all.
Very glad to see burl235 back as intrepid28 ! I've missed reading his blogs.
Well ... tired and going back to bed for a bit before lunchtime for mom. Hope all is well with everyone.
Peace J.
