well, OK .... not so new.

Dave has been looking for one of these cars for awhile now.  In fact he was looking for this car when he found the little MG Midget he restored last winter.  When we headed up to Medford a couple weeks ago he abruptly slammed on the brakes in the truck, whipped a "U" and started up a very unfamiliar driveway.  He had caught a glimpse of something he thought might be "the" car.  He tends to do this kind of thing alot and I really really hate it.  Anyway ... he drives up to an old trailer surrounded by alot of older vehicles - and I do mean alot.  An older gentleman comes out and Dave jumps out of truck and starts excitedly asking about the car in the bushes you can see from the road.  Yes, by golly, it is ..... it is "the" car ... the one he has been looking for forever ... right in our own backyard!  It is a 1967 MG 1100.  I try really hard to get excited ... especially since he's telling me I now have my winter driver.  It won't be this winter .... I promise you.  This little car needs some loving .... serious loving.  It is a cutie ... just have to use your imagination a bit ..... !

Front view .... remember .... imagination !!!!! Smiley

Side view ... like you don't know what your looking at .... In the back ground is this car's sister ... an Austin America.  We had gotten this car from Dave's son awhile back ... but it just wasn't the MG 1100.  They are almost identical and parts are interchangeable.  Hopefully this will save us a bit of $$$$.

Ass end ....  Dave wants to get English plates for it when it's done .... we will see ...

There is no driver's seat ... hummmmm ... nice interior huh?

Think I need a new roof liner ... how bout you?

I am very thankful that Dave is the master car restorer that he is.  I will post progress pictures as we go along.  I myself am having a hard time but know in the end I'll love the dumb thing.  It cost us $100.00.  Hopefully when it's done it will be worth $6,000 - $8,000.  And I'll have my winter driver.

Thanks honey ..... I think!

Peace.    J.
