happened today prior to my Verizon frustration.  And I am thinking that this could have added to my overall attitude.

When I left my last job waitressing under not so good circumstances there was another girl hostessing/waiting.  I'll call her L.  I ran into L today leaving work. She informed me that she had been fired for being 10 minutes late.  Now since I worked with L for awhile I know she was anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes late for every shift.  But good help is hard to find around here so you take a little bad with the good.  Apparently my old boss got fed up.  L said that things were said to her that we not nice.  Made her cry.  And she thought that I should know that the other reason she was fired was that "she was to much like Julie and I'm not putting up with that again".  She said she took the "too much like Julie" to be a compliment but that was not the way it was meant. 

1.  I never never never once showed up to work late.  Always 1/2 hour early.  Always.  Never once in 2 1/2 years did I call in sick.  Never missed and shift and worked doubles 4 days a week.

2.  I would wait days past my pay day to deposit paycheck ... at her request.  Bounced more than one check because of this and never not once asked her to pay my fees.  I knew if she was having a hard time paying me she sure as hell could not afford to pay my bounced check fees.

3.  I would tip her out .... the owner of the business .... for helping me make salads when I was overwhelmingly busy.  I have never tipped out an owner before but knew she needed every penny she could get.  And she took it .... and was very grateful for it.

4.  I loaned her a commercial coffee pot (not mine, belongs to friend who owned restaurant) after hers took a dump.  She still has this coffee pot ... but not for long ... here come the repo lady.  Knew she could not afford a new one.

5.  Put together all her local cable tv ads.  Took pictures for these ads.  All on my own time.  Never once asked for any payment.

6.  Grew basil for her for two years for her pesto pasta ... saved her some serious $$$$.  Didn't charge her at all.

I could go on and on and on.  Fired her because she was too much like me.  And that is bad ... obviously.  I'm a real bitch & don't you forget it.
